The Self Sculptor Model: A Study of Educator Perceptions of Concept and Applicability
Kevin Cunningham
ProQuest LLC, Ed.D. Dissertation, Concordia University Texas
Current paradigms for curriculum and instruction have yet to address methods for encouraging intrinsic motivation using educational and psychological principles in a constructivist framework. This research examined the perceptions regarding the potential efficacy and effects of implementing a new paradigm, the Self Sculptor Model, that uses universal psychological principles to help students choose to learn. Teachers and administrators at a charter school district in western Texas were interviewed. Findings included general support for the new model and recommendations for implementation.
