The purpose of this quantitative study was to compare mental health and stress in K-5 teachers at a Southeast Texas elementary school based on gender, years of experience, and race. It was guided by the following research questions: How does the relationship between gender among male and female elementary teachers relate to stress assessment tools? How does the number of years of teaching experience correlate with performance among male and female elementary teachers and their stress levels? How does the association between race influence the mental health of male and female elementary teachers in the workplace? Convenience sampling was used for this quantitative study. Participants consisted of K-5 teachers from a Southeast Texas elementary school. The researcher utilized 33 participants. Using the interview data, the mean and standard deviation were extracted. The study findings suggest that females experience a higher percentage in their mental health and stress levels. The study also provides the viewpoints of K-5 concerning the correlation between mental health and stress and potential strategies for addressing them. The study provides implications for practice that will help district leaders decrease mental health and stress among teachers.
