General Mechanical Repair 2. Minor Automotive Maintenance, Small Engine [Repair, and] Welding. Curriculum Guide.
Hamlin, Larry
This curriculum guide provides materials for teachers to use in developing a 1-year course in general mechanical repair as part of the trade and industrial education curriculum. The guide contains the following: (1) essential elements common to all trade and industrial courses; (2) an instructional delivery outline (teaching sequence) for the course, containing the various sections, units, and topics of instruction; listing the essential elements covered in each topic; identifying instructional materials; and recommending hours of instruction for each unit of instruction; (3) objectives for each unit and the specific objectives to be met upon completion of each topic; (4) suggested resources; and (5) an appendix--modification techniques for special populations. The course is divided into four basic sections of instructional materials. The first section covers the common essential elements for trade and industrial elements; the remaining sections cover minor automotive maintenance, small engine repair, and welding. Extensive matrices link lesson plan topics with mathematics, science, language arts, social studies, and Texas curriculum objectives. (KC)
