Developed to improve the educational testing program and to reflect the content of the state curriculum for students in Texas, this paper lists words selected from all state-adopted basal reading series, plus several other appropriate sources, which may be included in test items on the Texas Educational Assessment of Minimum Skills (TEAMS) tests. The paper begins with information on the background and purpose of the list and on instructions for use, and presents word list development rules. The first section of the vocabulary list provides a grade-by-grade set of words for grades 1 through exit level. The second section contains a cumulative alphabetical list of words followed by grade level designations. (EL)
