This teaching guide is one of four documents published by the Houston Independent School District for teacher use in developing career education and career awareness in the classroom. Five occupational clusters (construction, manufacturing, transportation, agri-business and natural resource, and marine science) are used to develop career awareness for the high school student. Each cluster includes behavioral objectives and instructional procedures for the teacher. A series of job descriptions using newspaper articles, interviews, and cartoons provide resource material for the teacher and the student.
