The Internet gives Appalachian students and teachers access to resources well beyond what libraries could provide or poor schools could afford. Focusing on Morgan County (Ohio) and Alvin C. York Institute (Fentress County, Tennessee), the benefits of Internet access are discussed, as well as efforts to provide three elements of access: adequate computers, affordable Internet service, and teacher training.
