Walker, Carolyn
ProQuest LLC, Ed.D. Dissertation, Wingate University
This mixed methods study examined the effects of experiential learning on student completion and academic success in a business course at Greenville Technical College in Greenville, South Carolina. Completion rates and end-of-course grades were compared between non-experiential learning participants and experiential learning participants in Accounting 224 Business Taxation. The study also examined the impact of experiential learning on students and the community partner participating in the experiential learning activity. The results of this study revealed higher completion rates and end-of-course grades for experiential learning participants compared to non-participants. Qualitative data, student, and community partner surveys, further supported experiential learning's positive impact on student completion and academic success.
