Suggestions of roles and responsibilities are presented in this booklet designed for counselors in the implementation of career education. The first section deals with the role of the counselor and is presented in the form of a group discussion. (Participants in the discussion are counselors from elementary schools, middle schools, and high schools representing various districts in the state of South Carolina). Included in this discussion is a list of suggested topics for group activities for guidance counselors to use in career evaluation. The next section outlines suggested learner objectives to be attained under seven elements involved in career education: self-knowledge, decision-making skills, career awareness, economic awareness, educational awareness, attitudes and appreciation, and social awareness. The last section lists the names and addresses of sources of career guidance materials. (JH)
