Decimals and Percents. Mathematics Series: Principles, Concepts and Applications.

The "General Mathematics" series is intended to introduce students to basic mathematic principles and concepts and to provide the opportunity to apply those principles and concepts. This module, one of six in the series, will allow students to build or increase their level of understanding of decimals and percents, and will help students develop skills necessary to successfully convert fractions to decimals, convert decimals to percents, and solve problems using fractions, decimals, and percents. Units include: (1) "Place Values of Decimals"; (2) "Rounding Decimals"; (3) "Adding Decimals"; (4) "Subtracting Decimals"; (5) "Multiplying Decimals"; (6) "Dividing Decimals"; (7) "Converting Percents"; (8) "Solving Problems Using Percents"; and (9) "Reviewing Decimals and Percents." The standard format for each unit is as follows: performance objectives; suggested activities; information sheet; tests; pretests; and answer sheets; and, depending on the specific objectives, there may or may not be assignment sheets; job sheets; transparency masters and supplements.
