Home Economics I. Teacher Edition.
Oklahoma State Dept. of Vocational and Technical Education, Stillwater. Curriculum and Instructional Materials Center.
This teacher's guide to Home Economics I is designed to provide a basic core of instruction in vocational home economics. It provides teachers with minimum program standards, enables unified program standards, and provides a means of accountability for students and teachers in Oklahoma. The concepts in the guide, organized in eight sections, have been designed to facilitate basic knowledge and skills in career development, child development, clothing and textiles, consumer education, food and nutrition, housing and home furnishings, and personal and family relationships. Attention is also given to student knowledge of, and participation in, the vocational and home economics youth organization, Future Homemakers of America. Each of the 29 units of the guide includes some or all of the basic components of a unit of instruction: performance objectives, suggested activities for teachers and students, information sheets, supplements, transparency masters, pretests, activity sheets, job sheets, practical tests, written tests and answers to pretests, assignment sheets, and written tests. Units are planned for more than one lesson or class period of instruction. (KC)
