Building an Organization's Evaluation System: A Case Example of Using Appreciative Inquiry
Preskill, Hallie
Online Submission, Paper presented at the Academy of Human Resource Development International Research Conference in The Americas (Indianapolis, IN, Feb 28-Mar 4, 2007)
This paper describes how Appreciative Inquiry was used to design an organization's evaluation system that would contribute to the staff's capacity to engage in evaluation and to think evaluatively. By building on participants' peak evaluation experiences, their values and wishes with regard to evaluation, and what is commonly accepted as "good" evaluation practice, a comprehensive evaluation system was developed. The data collection process, as well as each of the system's components and elements is described. (Contains 1 figure.)
