A multi-attribute attitude model was used to determine whether a multicriteria scale can be used to predict student preferences for and attendance at universities. Data were gathered from freshmen attending five state universities in Ohio. The results indicate a high level of predictability. (Author/MLW)

A study investigated how 362 Ohio high school seniors perceived the quality of selected state universities in Ohio and how those perceptions affected their choice of colleges to which to apply. It is concluded that students do use perceived quality as a basis for application. Implications for practice and further research are outlined. (MSE)
