A status report on museums and media prefaces the annotated references listed in this paper. Futuristic proposals have been made for a Museum of Media that would be all media and no objects, and for a museum environment individualized by computer and visual previews of the galleries. The museums of today use films, slide-tapes, sound recordings, and electronic guide systems. Plans are being made for a Museum Computer Network. The important role that museums play in elementary and secondary education is represented in the references to books, papers, periodicals, and reports. (MF)
