These four issues discuss issues in the education of children with disabilities. The Spring 1992 issues focuses on developing transition systems. Articles include: "Vocational Rehabilitation, Rehabilitation Counseling, and Transition: Service Delivery and Professional Issues" (Edna M. Szymanski et al.); "Personnel Preparation To Promote Successful Transition for Adolescents with Disabilities (Linda Backus); "Planning for When the School Bus Stops: A Holistic Approach" (Therese Zona); "Independent Living and Transition" (Roy Van Dusen); and "Preparing Students with Severe Disabilities for Integrated Employment" (Pat Rogan). The Summer 1992 issue focuses on the New York State Council for Exceptional Children (NYS CEC) Convention. It contains a convention program as well as the following articles: "Why Join? Reflections of a Lifelong CEC Member" (Sharon Raimondi); "Why Go? Why Present?" (Barbara Weitzner-Lin); "What We Got Out of It: Students at a NYS CEC Convention," and "What We Enjoyed: Presenting at a NYS CEC Convention." Teamwork is the theme of the Fall 1992 issue, and is discussed in "Multidisciplinary Teams: The Essence of Empowerment" (L. Jay Lev and Susan M. Lev) and "Modifying Whole Language for the Inclusive Classroom: Teachers Working Together" (Rebecca Rich and Lisa Freund). The Winter 1993 issue highlights two conference presentations, "Summer School on a Shoestring" and "The Implementation of Structured Teaching with Students with Severe Mental Retardation: The TEACCH Program," and offers an article titled "The Application of Principles and Practices in the Field of Learning Disabilities to Students Who Are Learning Disabled and Hearing Impaired" (Barry E. McNamara). Each issue also contains items relating to activities of the NYS CEC. (JDD)
