Are Instructional Aides Being Misused?

A statewide survey by the New Jersey Education Association indicates that instructional aides are being misused and misassigned in many school districts. Abuses cited include use of noncertificated aides as teachers, violation of pay practices, and ineffective program administration. The Association's recommendations for change are listed.
