A Model Consortium Program for Educational Research Development and Evaluation in New Jersey Colleges. Final Report.
Ambry, Edward J.; Heiss, George D.
In September 1971 ten institutions of higher education in New Jersey formed a research consortium that would enable the institutions, each of which has teacher education programs, to develop research programs and research skills within their faculty. The major objectives of the consortium for the first year of operation were: (1) to develop a structure that would establish a close working relationship among colleges offering programs for education majors; (2) to increase the research capabilities of individual faculty members through a structured training program that would acquaint participants with the most current research techniques and facilities available; (3) to establish a structure through which research information, results, and facilities can be disseminated among and within the faculties of member colleges and other institutions; (4) to identify individuals and facilities in member institutions who can aid in the research process; and (5) to encourage research by faculty in the member institutions, consortium-wide research, and research on a statewide level.
