Missouri Introduction to Industrial Technology Curriculum Guide.

This curriculum guide is a primary resource to help teachers organize, instruct, and evaluate an introductory level course in industrial technology education at the middle school/junior high school level in Missouri. The guide consists of an introductory section, five units of instruction, and a section of appendixes. The introductory section reports on the project that developed the guide and provides a course flowchart and suggested course layout. The five units of instruction cover the following topics: (1) overview of technology; (2) working with technology; (3) energy and power technology; (4) communication technology; and (5) materials and processing technology. Each unit is organized in one or more lesson plans that include scope; competencies; content outline coordinated with teacher plans and activities; suggested student activities; references, audiovisual aids, supplies, and equipment; evaluation methods; and references. Numerous appendixes provide information sheets, activities and worksheets, crossword puzzles, resources, a bibliography, and a glossary. (KC)
