Indicators of Social Well-Being and Elements of Child Welfare in Minnesota Rural Counties.
Menanteau-Horta, Dario; Yigzaw, Michael
Child Welfare, v81 n5 p709-35 Sep-Oct 2002
Analyzed the relationship between elements of child welfare and an index of social well-being in Minnesota counties. Found that all except two rural counties and only two urban counties had negative social well-being scores. Counties with low social well-being scores tended to have larger numbers of child welfare recipients. Findings suggest that social workers may enhance services by considering county data that depict the viability of rural communities. (Author/KB)
