Fall 2001 Enrollment and Admissions Summary Report.
Massachusetts State Board of Higher Education, Boston.
This report presents segmental and institution-specific enrollment and admissions data for 28 of the 29 institutions that comprise the Massachusetts public higher education system: the University of Massachusetts (4 campuses), the state colleges (9 institutions), and community colleges (15 institutions). Data are collected for the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worchester, but traditionally they are not included in the system enrollment report. The data focus on basic enrollment and admissions statistics. These highlights show that 181,187 students enrolled in fall 2001 credit courses at Massachusetts public colleges and the university system, generating 123,612 full-time equivalent (FTE) students. This represents a 1.6% increase in headcount and a 2.9% increase in FTEs. Section 1 contains some data highlights. Section 2 contains data on enrollment, including headcount figures for degree and nondegree seeking undergraduates and graduate students. Section 3 contains information about admissions and system applicants. Section 4 provides some information about special admissions, including transfer students. (Contains 32 tables.) (SLD)
