The Relationship between Assessment of Remedial Need and Student Success in College.

A study examined the graduation and transfer rates of students assessed for remediation at Maryland community and public four-year colleges, and possible differential success rates based on the amount of remediation required. These data were also compared with those of students not requiring remediation. Policy implications are discussed. (MSE)
