This report presents standardized records management procedures. Its purpose is to provide Maryland State public school systems guidelines and standards for the establishment of effective records retention and disposition programs. These guidelines are consistent with legal requirements imposed by Maryland law. The report contains approved records retention and disposition schedules and suggestions for schedule implementation by each local education agency. Records management techniques for electronic data processing media, such as punched cards, magnetic tapes, or discs are not discussed in the report. (Pages 55-56 may reproduce poorly.) (Author/JF)
