Reports on a study of student perceptions of harmdoers among 164 second and fifth-grade Japanese students. Unofficial rates of delinquency (RDs) were studied in Japan for a representative population sample of 1,121 high school students in the Osaka prefecture, mostly from private schools. RD correlations and interpretations were compared with those of similar U.S. studies. Reasons self-reported delinquency in Japan was much lower are discussed. (SLD)
