Describes a study done to assess the degree to which changes in interethnic acceptance, due to contact under integration, generalize to an individual's views of unknown or stereotypic group members. Findings show that acquaintanceship elevates interpersonal acceptance but that the pattern of acceptance does not carry over to unacquainted figures from these groups. (SED)
