This 8-unit volume written in Bahasa Indonesian is intended to acquaint United States military personnel studying Bahasa Indonesian with Indonesian geography and geographic terminology. The text, used in the third phase of the Basic Course, aims to: (1) relate significant content about the area, (2) expand the student's vocabulary, and (3) develop the student's linguistic skills. The eight units are: (1) Geographic Setting; (2) Natural Features; (3) Communication and Transportation; (4) Ethnic Groups, Languages, and Religious Beliefs; (5) Agriculture; (6) Industry; (7) Fishery and Animal Husbandry; and (8) Population Problem and Control. Each lesson consists of: (1) presentation of new vocabulary material in sentence context; (2) the text; (3) student assignments; and (4) Bahasa Indonesian/English word lists.
