Pizza Preachers Unseparate Church and State
Boston, Rob
Education Digest: Essential Readings Condensed for Quick Review, v69 n6 p24-31 Feb 2004
In this article, the author discusses several issues and concerns on the case of religious groups who attempt to seek converts in school, hiding under the guise of assemblies and free talks on any topic that might be of interest to the school. Students are then lured to a pizza party after, where they are subjected to high-pressure evangelism and urged to make faith professions. Of major highlight is the case of Robert J. Marsh who reacted to a scheduled lecture in public schools from a Southern Baptist evangelist, Ronnie Hill, prompting him to contact the Americans United for Separation of Church and State. Details of the case and its related implications are also discussed.
