The handbook is intended to be utilized by health occupations teachers as supplementary instructional materials for a unit on safety. The document contains general safety rules applicable to hospitals and other health care institutions. Outlined are general rules for fire safety and office and clerical safety and more specific rules for the epidemiology programs, radiology and nuclear medicine safety, nursing safety, laboratory safety, surgery safety, dietary safety, maintenance safety, and housekeeping safety.
