This final report of a state-wide foreign language program survey made in the fall of 1971 presents statistical data based on 1,013 completed questionnaires. Results show a steady increase in foreign language enrollment in Illinois since 1969. Charts include data in these areas: (1) combined totals of foreign language enrollment in public, independent, parochial, and private schools; (2) summary of foreign language programs and teachers by languages; (3) Chicago school system enrollment by academic years 1969-1972; (4) Chicago school system enrollment by learning levels; and (5) summary of foreign language programs by counties. A list of institutions of higher education that participated in the survey is included. (RL)
