Results are summarized for a number of tests administered to secondary school students in Idaho. A description of each test and the students tested is provided, as well as the purposes of the test and a brief summary of results. Two tests administered especially in Idaho are included. The Idaho Proficiency Test, a criterion referenced test of mathematics, reading, spelling, and writing, is administered to eighth graders. The Tests of Achievement and Proficiency assess eleventh graders' achievement in reading comprehension, secondary school mathematics, written expression, using sources of information, social studies, and secondary school science. A number of external testing programs are also included: (1) The American College Testing Program; (2) The College Entrance Examination Board Admissions Testing Program, including the Test of Standard Written English, the Achievement Tests, and the Scholastic Aptitude Test; (3) Advanced Placement Examinations; (4) The College Level Examination Program; (5) The Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test; and (6) The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery.
