Describes the education available to Romani children in Slovakia, Hungary, and the Czech Republic, explaining that they get placed in special schools for children with mental retardation and have no access to quality education. If they are allowed in regular schools, they are segregated within the building. Model schools that have been developed for Romani students are described. (SM)
