Watson, Roy E. L. – Family Relations, 1983
Assessed the effects of cohabitation on subsequent marital adjustment. A comparison of couples (N=54) who had lived together before marriage with couples (N=30) who had not, showed significant differences. Unexpectedly, noncohabiters obtained higher marital satisfaction scores. Possible explanations in terms of test items are suggested.…

Homatidis, Soula; Konstantareas, M. Mary – Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, 1981
Employed a discriminant analysis with a number of instruments to determine their relative power in classifying hyperactive children. Results indicated that only nine of 27 measures used had the potential to discriminate hyperactive from normal children. Only three measures were needed in the discriminant equation for accurate classification.…

Martin, Vicky L.; Pressley, Michael – Journal of Educational Psychology, 1991
Potential mechanisms mediating the facilitative effects of elaborative interrogation on associative memory were investigated with Canadian university students reading facts about Canadian provinces. Wahlstrom, Merlin; And Others – Canadian Journal of Education, 1986
An important aspect of Ontario's participation in the Second International Study of Mathematics was a comparative analysis of students' mathematics achievement from 1968 to 1982. Achievement levels remained remarkably constant. The problem of declining achievement in the United States was not apparent in this analysis of Ontario students. (LMO)

Traub, Ross E.; Fisher, Charles W. – Applied Psychological Measurement, 1977
Two sets of mathematical reasoning and two sets of verbal comprehension items were cast into each of three formats--constructed response, standard multiple-choice, and Coombs multiple-choice--in order to assess whether tests with identical content but different formats measure the same attribute. The unprecedented development of self-help groups confirms their importance, but few studies have focused on prevention and self-help groups.
