Ministry of Education 2014/15-2016/17 Service Plan
British Columbia Ministry of Education
The Service Plan outlines the work the Ministry of Education will continue to undertake to modernize education in British Columbia (B.C.) and achieve its vision. The Ministry's work on that transformation focuses on two broad priority areas: (1) Transforming how they support and enable better learning outcomes for B.C. children; and (2) Transforming how they administer education to ensure every possible dollar goes to support students in the classroom. This plan provides the vision for the transformation of education in order to improve students' ability to pursue success in school and life. The goals, objectives and strategies in this Service Plan align with British Columbia's Education Plan's five key elements: (1) Personalized Learning; (2) Quality Teaching and Learning; (3) Flexibility and Choice; (4) High Standards; and (5) Learning Empowered by Technology. This year's Service Plan includes: (1) Message from the Minister and Accountability Statement; (2) Purpose of the Ministry; (3) Strategic Context; (4) Goals, Objectives, Strategies and Performance Measures; and (5) Resource Summary (Resource Summary Table; Resource Summary Table Public Schools; and Major Capital Projects). Ministry contact information is also included.
