A survey on the methods and system of detecting hearing loss in infants in Canada's Maritime Provinces is reported, and results are related to other research in Canada and the United States. This paper emphasizes the importance of testing infants for hearing loss in the newborn nursery and describes the screening program of the Nova Scotia Hearing and Speech Clinic as a model.
