Examines age variations in perceptions of the emotional character of decades of the twentieth century (N=150 adults). Results showed that the emotional character of individual decades sometimes differs significantly as a function of age. A study of 34 Canadian survivors of childhood abuse found only 47% had confided in someone and only 14.3% had discussed it with a counselor.
