In recent years the costs of school vandalism and the incidence of vandalism in the public schools have been rising. The study concerns itself with the application of production functions, Monte Carlo techniques, and Shannon's model of information theory to determine the most efficient use of preventive vandalism techniques in a large school system. The results of the study indicate the gain in efficiency of communication to administrative decision-makers as a result of the information processing and retrieval system employed by the researchers.
