The Real Libraries of the OC
Oder, Norman
Library Journal, v133 n10 p28-31 Jun 2008
Sandwiched between Los Angeles and San Diego counties, nudging up to Riverside and San Bernardino to the east, Orange County, California is far more diverse than the stereotype. Orange County has no dominant city; its two largest, Santa Ana and Anaheim--each with populations around 350,000--are, respectively, home to lower-income Latinos and a varied and sprawling community, well beyond iconic Disneyland. This article features the libraries operating in Orange County. Descriptions of how these libraries address the needs of Orange County's diverse users are also presented.
