As new educational programs emerge and changes are made to meet the needs of pupils, appropriate adaptations must likewise be made in school buildings. This publication relates programs for exceptional children to the facilities that make possible the implementation of such programs. The exemplary programs and facilities described in this publication have been selected to represent all areas of the State of California so that school personnel might visit existing facilities and learn from the experiences of others. The publication demonstrates what can be accomplished when constructive, innovative ideas for the education of exceptional children are combined with flexible, imaginative school planning methods.
