Exploring Pedagogy with Interactive Whiteboards in Australian Schools
Kearney, Matthew; Schuck, Sandy
Australian Educational Computing, v23 n1 p8-13 Jun 2008
This research project investigated the use of interactive whiteboards (IWBs) in K-12 education. Exploration of the use of IWBs in six different school settings provided insights into the activities, approaches, roles and beliefs of students and teachers in a range of primary and secondary class contexts and discipline areas. The study was informed by socio-cultural theory and a major focus was on the interactions between the new technology, pedagogy and the social conditions of the classroom. The findings presented in this paper focus on the pedagogical aspects of using IWBs that emerged from the study. (Contains 1 table.)
