The appropriateness of American norms for the School Motivation Analysis Test (SMAT) for use in Australia was studied, using 277 Australian secondary school students (99 males and 178 females). An attempt was made to standardize the Work Aspect Preference Scale for an Australian work sample, including 1,250 employed adults (46 percent females and 54 percent males).
