The Family Economics and Financial Education Project (FEFE) began in 2001 at Montana State University with an annual grant from Take Charge America, Inc., a credit counseling and debt management company headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona. FEFE's mission is to provide educators with curriculum materials and training to be effective teachers of family economics and finance. This article describes the FEFE Project, including its core principles, history, accomplishments, and future. The project is a highly successful example of collaboration across the private sector and education at various levels. It serves as a national model to educators who are working every day to improve the financial and economic literacy of America's youth.
