This report contains information on the number of students under the age of eighteen and the courses taken by these students at Arizona's community colleges in 1999-2000. It provides information on students under the age of eighteen who had not yet attained a high school diploma or high school certificate of equivalency and who were enrolled in a community college course or program for credit. The total number of students under the age of eighteen enrolled in community college courses or programs in 1999-00 was 20,430, a decrease of 5,847 from the 1997-98 school year. As an non-exhaustive example of the results, the total number of students enrolled (unduplicated headcount) in Cochise College was 646, in Coconino Community College 57, in Eastern Arizona College 1,351, in the Maricopa Community Colleges 13,161, in Estrella Mountain Community College 1,327, in Gateway Community College 2,142, in Glendale Community College 1,954, in Mesa Community College 720, in Paradise Valley Community College 398, in Phoenix College 693, in Rio Salado College 3,406, in Scottsdale Community College 397, and in South Mountain Community College 1,203. The top ten courses (those with the largest under eighteen student enrollments) included general chemistry, computer application orientation, composition, technology career sampler, and weight training.
