We the People: A Four-Part Television Series Produced for PBS. An Instructor's Guide.
Naylor, David T.
This instructor's guide was prepared in conjunction with the bicentennial celebration of the U.S. Constitution and to accompany a four-part series about the document's impact on citizen's lives. A separate guide, for use in secondary school classrooms, is included for each of the programs. Each guide contains: (1) a brief discussion of the contemporary controversies portrayed in the program and the constitutional principles involved; (2) background information and exercises, suitable for use prior to viewing the program; (3) activities and worksheets to guide viewers and focus attention on important issues; (4) post-viewing activities to enhance critical thinking skills; and (5) a list of selected resources on constitutional related topics. A final section includes definitions, additional activities, and general resource materials. Information concerning distribution of these programs on videotape is provided, and pictures are included.
