These recommendations are made by a Committee of Conference to amend the Older Americans Act of 1965. The committee, composed of members of both the House of Representatives and Senate, recommends changes in the amendment proposed by the House to the Senate bill to extend the authorization of appropriations for, and to revise, the Act. (The Senate has disagreed with the amendment of the House.) Following the text of the amendment, cited as the "Older Americans Act Amendments of 1984," is a joint explanatory statement of the Committee of Conference. This statement describes the changes that could be brought about by the House and/or Senate amendment(s) to each title of the Act and then cites the Conference agreement. (YLB)
