This document contains the performance report, evaluation, and appended materials of a project to develop and implement a career exploration internship for physically handicapped students involving industry participation and educational support. The performance report discusses activities, including staff hiring, internship site development, student recruitment, and adaptation and creation of materials for the academic component of the program--a series of five workshops. The evaluation report focuses on three major components of the evaluation plan: (1) quantitative component (assessing career objectives), measured by the Physically Handicapped (PH) Program Questionnaire; (2) qualitative component (evaluating unanticipated consequences of the program), consisting of student and employer exit interviews; and (3) formative evaluation, consisting of ongoing interviews with staff, direct observation, and biweekly documentation. These conclusions are reported: the quantitative component did not provide evidence of reliable, meaningful effects on learner objectives, but the qualitative component pointed to real change in students' attitudes towards work and education and in their concrete career plans. Appendixes, amounting to well over one-half of the document, include the PH Program Questionnaire, Student and Employer Exit Interview formats, workshop materials (both course outline and revised version), employer questionnaire, project brochure, and final project packet of complete information on program development and implementation.
