Career Education Teacher Training Corps. Final Report.
Kiefert, Kaye D.; And Others
A project was conducted to develop a Career Education Teacher Training Corps model for local district staff development and district program planning and development. Seven training modules were developed which provide a comprehensive planning and staff development system that can be adapted for use in a variety of educational settings. These modules covered the areas of career education orientation, curriculum development, guidance, activities, materials and resources, and community resources. Five teams of educators were selected and trained in the content and use of these materials and modules. After receiving thirty hours of training, the corps members developed a local district implementation plan for career education, including curriculum planning, materials and resources assessment, and staff development planning. Participants in the master training sessions showed significant gains in both knowledge and skills in the career education module areas as measured by the pre/post evaluation instrument. Corps members were also assisted in developing measurement teachniques for use in their own future training sessions at the local level. Dissemination efforts were highly successful in terms of responses of local districts in the state of Washington. (Author/BM)
