A Proposed Framework for a Community College Cybersecurity Program
Patrick Ward
ProQuest LLC, Ph.D. Dissertation, The Claremont Graduate University
This proposal is to develop a framework for designing a cybersecurity program. The goal of the program is to prepare students graduating from an accredited two-year college for success in cybersecurity careers. Several challenges such as program accreditation, workforce development, and Department of Homeland Security/National Security Agency Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE in CD) designation exist. All of these serve as inputs in constructing a methodology to develop such a program to meet local industry needs for cyber professionals. I developed this framework as a cybersecurity educator over the last five years, published a few papers, and I then contacted several of my peers to validate the factors that I used to build my framework.
