Hanson, Lincoln F., Ed.
Office of Education, US Department of Health, Education, and Welfare
This bulletin lists materials available in the fall of 1963 to assist educators in their selections of programmed instruction materials, and updates the inaugural issue, "Programs '62." Since the 1962 edition provided a number of first analyses of programmed material available, some of the present statistical data have been related to last year's findings in a statistical summary to show "two points on the curve," although trends are, of course, premature. The document includes some suggestions for using "Programs '63." Subject area entries shown in this first part of the bulletin include producer information and brief descriptions in the following topic areas: (1) Arithmetic; (2) Business education & economics; (3) Games; (4) Grammar & usage; (5) Language arts; (6) Modern language; (7) Mathematics--algebra, applied mathematics, geometry, and logic. [This bulletin was prepared with the assistance of Carol Christman and Gertrude Seidel. It was compiled and produced by The Center for Programed Instruction, Inc., in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Health, Education, and Welfare, Office of Education. Due to its size, this volume has been processed as two separate parts. This first part includes the Introduction through the Guide to Programs entry, "Mathematics--Logic". The second part (ED544044) includes the Guide to Programs entry, "Mathematics--Miscellaneous" through the index. The cover page and table of contents are repeated in the second part. Best copy available has been provided.]
