The Child Who Stutters at School
Williams, Dean E., Comp.
Education Digest: Essential Readings Condensed for Quick Review, v76 n6 p60-62 Feb 2011
Teachers often report difficulty in knowing how to best help a child who stutters in the classroom. Many children who stutter can handle oral reading tasks satisfactorily, particularly if they are encouraged to practice at home. Some, however, will stutter severely while reading aloud in class. This article offers some tips for early-grade teachers on how to handle a child who stutters at school. [This article was updated by Lisa A. Scott.]
