What's Happening with Distance Learning? Database Tracks District Plans
Learning Professional, v41 n4 p19-21 Aug 2020
In March 2020, the Center on Reinventing Public Education (CRPE) began tracking U.S. districts' plans for navigating school closures and distance learning. The database, which is available on CRPE's website (www.crpe.org), draws on publicly available plans from the 30 largest districts in the country, members of the Council of the Great City Schools, smaller districts that participate in CRPE's rural studies, and at least one district from otherwise unrepresented states. Since March, the center has been analyzing the plans and presenting the trends in a series of research papers and commentaries. "The Learning Professional" spoke with CRPE director Robin Lake about how the database took shape, what she and her colleagues have learned from it, and the implications for professional learning. The interview with Robin Lake is presented in this article.
