How Do Students Feel about Their Schools? WCPSS Student Survey Results: 2016-17. DRA Report No. 18.02
Huang, Haigen
Wake County Public School System
The Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) Student Survey is administered each year to measure students' perceptions about their learning experiences. Over 28,000 students in grades 5, 8, and 9 responded to the 50-item survey in the spring of 2017. Results by grade were very similar to 2016 survey results. The majority of students had positive perceptions of their schools and teachers, were hopeful about their future, felt supported by their family, and had friends at school. Rates of agreement declined from 5th grade to 9th grade, particularly in response to items about Control and Relevance of School Work.
