What Would Picasso's Snowman Look Like?
Hadley, Mary Jane
SchoolArts: The Art Education Magazine for Teachers, v108 n5 p41-42 Jan 2009
The students in the author's first grade class looked at Picasso's painting, "The Three Musicians," and observed how Picasso made the objects and people appear squared or "cubed." This style of art is called Cubism. In this article, the author describes a painting project that required her students to paint a Cubist snowman. This project helped her students transfer the concept of making something realistic to something Cubist. (Contains 1 online resource.)
